BD Manager
Job Information: Immediate opening for an BD Manager in Chicago, IL. The role is remote but candidate needs to be in or near the Chicago area.
Key Responsibilities:
Located in or near the Chicago, IL area
Responsible for driving new business development across the Illinois market
Pure hunter sales role focused on expanding the client’s presence with new industrial manufacturing customers
Identify, develop, and close new opportunities that drive profitable revenue growth
Build, manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects
Navigate complex B2B sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders within customer organizations
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with new customers
Target manufacturing and industrial accounts using specialty chemical solutions
Focus applications include metalworking fluids, surface finishing, and water treatment
Proactively penetrate new accounts and uncover customer needs, pain points, and growth opportunities
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments within the territory
Collaborate with internal technical, marketing, and product teams to position the client’s solutions effectively
Present value-based chemical solutions tailored to customer operations and business needs
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience selling specialty chemicals or industrial process solutions
Experience with metalworking fluids, surface finishing, water treatment, or related industrial chemistries
Proven hunter mentality with demonstrated success opening new accounts
Strong consultative selling and contract negotiation skills
Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple decision makers
Comfortable managing pipeline activity within CRM systems
Ability to travel throughout Illinois, approximately 50% of the time
Compensation & Benefits
Total compensation: $200K it is a 70/30 split with uncapped commission.
